Accountability in Community
James 5:19-20, Galatians 6:1-2, Hebrews 3:12-13, 1 Thessalonians 5:14
1) Accountability is God’s design for helping each other strengthen our walk with Jesus. (Matthew 7:13-14)
Be watchful for people wandering and drifting. It’s a community responsibility.
We are called to intervene and respond to those who wander. Take action.
The priority is restoration. There’s an eternal significance to intervention.
Galatians 6:1-2
2) Accountability reflects God’s heart to restore us from sinfulness and straying.
We are called to gentle restoration with compassion, humility, and vigilance.
Loving others well by helping carry burdens is evidence of spiritual growth and maturity.
Hebrews 3:12-13
3) Accountability within Christian community protects our hearts from spiritual drift and helps us remain tender toward God and the lifestyle He’s called us to live.
The danger is a heart that turns away from God and is hardened toward the things of God.
Encourage each other to stay the pathway with urgency.
4) Why does accountability matter? Because purity paves the way to intimacy with God.
Yes!!! But how? How do we practice accountability in community? (1 Thessalonians 5:14)
Lovingly warn
Deeply encourage
Practically care
With patience
