Encounters With Jesus [Part 7] Breakfast on the Beach

John 21:1-17

There’s a very big difference between experiencing failure, and feeling like one.

1) When you fail, don’t retreat – Go to Jesus.

      • Busyness doesn’t heal failure. Going backward doesn’t fix regret and guilt or shame.

2) When you fail, don’t try to fix yourself – Sit with Jesus.

      • The place of Peter’s greatest fall was also the place of Peter’s greatest call.

      • You don’t heal by punishing yourself. You heal by sitting with Jesus.

3) When you fail, don’t focus on performance – Love Jesus.

      • If your faith is built on how well you perform, you will constantly live in insecurity. But if your faith is built on loving Jesus, then your failure won’t define you.

4) When you fail, don’t assume it’s over – Serve Jesus.

      • Failure will shape you. It will humble you and refine you. But it doesn’t disqualify you.

CONCLUSION:

Failure is not final. When Jesus is on the shore, restoration is always possible, and grace is always extended.
