Ephesians 4:11-16
1) Christians are equipped to serve, not sit, because a church’s ministry effectiveness wanes when
disciples simply spectate. (vs. 11-12)
- Christians are called to be spiritual contributors, not spiritual consumers.
It’s part of our growth. - You were built for more than spiritual sightseeing because saved people serve people.
2) Healthy, growing churches aim for Christlike maturity —the unity of faith and knowledge—not the
next pseudo-spiritual fad or distraction. (vs. 13-14)
3) Speaking the truth in love is our best growth environment. (vs. 15)
- Our love grows soft if it’s not strengthened by truth, and the truth grows hard if it’s not softened by love.
- Hebrews 3:12-13
- Proverbs 27:6
- Why don’t we speak the truth in love to each other?
