2 Chronicles 25: 1-28
1) Sometimes we can have right deeds but divided devotion. (vs. 1-4, Deuteronomy 24:16)
- God weighs hearts before behaviors. Hearts don't follow behaviors,
but behaviors follow the heart. (1 Samuel 16:7)
2) Full-fledged faith and devotion often require sacrificing what feels too costly to abandon. (vs. 5-10)
- If God must always be cost-neutral to be obeyed, then He's not your God-
He's just a consultant. (Philippians 3:7-8)
3) Success sometimes has a way of exposing that we love winning and earthly accolades more
than we love the approval of God. (vs. 11-14)
4) When pride hits your heart it affects your judgement and you sign up for defeat by arrogance.
(vs. 17-24, Proverbs 16:18)
5) Divided hearts never stay neutral... they drift into distance. (vs. 25-28)
