Philippians 3:12-16

What steps does Paul give for growing into a mature Christian?

1) Develop a holy discontentment. (vs. 12-13)

      • It's not about guilt or shame, but hunger.

Matthew 5:6, Psalm 42:1-2

      • It's not being "spiritually insecure" - it's being "spiritually unsatisfied."

2) Let go of what's behind you, anything that would rob your current spiritual pursuit. (vs. 13)

      • Two traps that we can fall into:
      • Don't live off yesterday's victories. Spiritual nostalgia can keep us from present obedience.
      • Don't let the regrets of the past hinder you.

1 Timothy 1:12-16

3) Keep striving and pressing forward to reach the goal. (vs. 13-14)

      • Live out a Finish Line Faith!

4) Align your life with the truth you already know. (vs. 15-16)
