Tombstone [Part 6] Josiah- A Story of Faithfulness

2 Chronicles 34:1-8, 18-21, 27-33, 35:16-19, 2 Kings 23:25

1) Seek God early and you’ll stay the course later. Seek before you act. (vs. 1-4)

      •  If you don’t set your compass at 16, you’ll wander at 26. (Jeremiah 29:11-13)

2) You can’t disciple what Scripture says to destroy. Faithfulness requires subtraction
before addition. (vs. 3b-8)

3) A revival begins when the Bible stops being advice and becomes authority. (vs. 18-21, 27-28)

      •  Practice Scripture submission rhythms:
              hear --> reflect --> tremble
           -->obey --> share with others
      • When the Word finds you, let the Scripture break you, then rebuild you.

4) When God’s Word is read and received, God’s people are moved to renew
their allegiance and remove any idols. (vs. 29-33)

      • What you renew publicly, you’ll remember privately.

5) Remembered redemption produces renewed commitment. (vs. 35:16-19)

6) Our world today is starving for God-fearing, God-following examples of faithfulness.
We need less talk and more holy lives on display. (2 Kings 23:25)

CONCLUSION: Faithfulness isn’t a season; it’s a lifelong obedience in the same direction—
seeking God early, submitting to Scripture deeply, and stewarding influence boldly, all the way to the finish.
