Colossians 2:6-7
1) Shift from information to intimacy. (vs. 6)
- Bible facts without Jesus fellowship is spiritual famine.
- What does my schedule reveal about what I’m committed to most?
- Colossians 2:6-7 verbs: received (decision), live (daily), rooted (planted in Christ), built up (ongoing spiritual growth), strengthened (established), overflowing (pouring out with a grateful posture).
2) Shift from passive to practicing. (vs. 6-7)
- John 14:15
- Desire is good; devotion is better.
- Shift from being a Christian atheist. Believing in God, but living like He doesn’t exist.
- James 1:23-24
3) Shift from attending to engaging. (vs. 7)
- A new “Rule of Life”: Word daily, Pray continually, Worship weekly, Group consistently, Serve faithfully.
