Worship
Matthew 6:21, John 4:19-24
What does it mean to be a TRUE worshiper? (vs24)
You must have the Holy Spirit within you - simply put, you must have a new heart. (Ezekiel 36:26-27)
You must know the truth- simply put, you must know and be shaped by God's Word. (Psalm 119:11, Psalm 119:105, James 1:22)
Throughout Scripture, there are two types of Worship:
Public & Private
Public Worship is a regular in-person experience. (Acts 2:42-47, Hebrews 10:25)
Public Worship is meant to be orderly. (1 Corinthians 14:40)
Public Worship has specific elements.
Public Worship is when a group of believers gather regularly in person to worship God in an orderly manner through specific elements.
Private Worship is a daily discipline of intentionally turning our heart's affection towards Christ.
Private Worship is a private experience. (Matthew 6:5-8)
Private Worship is an expectation from God! (Psalm 37:4a)
Private Worship is about your relationships with God. (John 15:4a)
