Psalm 121
1) In your time of need…look up! Your help comes from the Maker, not the mountains.
(vs. 1-2)
- We all look somewhere when life gets uncertain.
- True help doesn’t come from what we see, but who we trust. (2 Corinthians 5:7)
2) Step confidently—He won’t let His children slip.
(vs. 3-4)
- He guards your footing even when life feels shaky.
- God doesn’t nap or doze off and lose track of His children.
- God is not unaware of your life—even when you are unaware of Him.
3) The Lord provides shade in the heat of life.
(vs. 5-6)
- Note: The text says God is the shade that shields, though He does not remove the heat.
4) If the Lord is your Lord, He will guard you both now and forevermore, every step, every season.
(vs. 7-8)
- God doesn’t promise the absence of hardship or struggle in life but the presence of His care all the time.
CONCLUSION: God is not distant or distracted. He is your ever-present Keeper.
