Luke 23:44-56
1) When expectations get buried, faithfulness means trusting God in the “in between.”
2) God may seem silent, but He is never absent.
3) Even when you cannot see what God is doing, waiting is never wasted. (Psalm 130:5-6; Lam. 3:21-26)
4) In the waiting, bury despair and practice persevering faithfulness. (Hebrews 10:23)
o Keep praying.
o Keep hoping. Hope is a choice rooted in God’s character, not your feelings.
o Keep gathering. Do not pull back from God’s people. The enemy loves isolation.
o Keep trusting and believing. Even if your faith feels weak, a weak hand can hold a strong Savior.
- Saturday faith is not having all the answers. It is obeying God in the dark. (2 Corinthians 5:7)
2) God may seem silent, but He is never absent.
- What God is doing in the Saturday dark is often what makes a Sunday resurrection possible.
(Isaiah 55:8-9; Romans 8:28; Psalm 46:10a)
3) Even when you cannot see what God is doing, waiting is never wasted. (Psalm 130:5-6; Lam. 3:21-26)
- Biblical hope does not pretend the pain is small. It just declares that God is bigger. (Rom. 5:3-5)
4) In the waiting, bury despair and practice persevering faithfulness. (Hebrews 10:23)
- What does persevering faithfulness look like?
o Keep praying.
