1) God meets people on the road, right where they are in life. (vs.26-35)
- Romans 10:14
- Questions are not wrong. But questions should eventually lead us to answers rooted in truth. God gives us truth so we can respond to Him in faith and obedience, not merely collecting more information.
2) The Gospel demands a response. (vs.36)
- Biblical faith is not merely agreeing that the gospel is true. Biblical faith trusts Jesus enough to respond to what He commands. Baptism is not faith competing with grace; it is faith responding to grace. (Galatians 3:27)
3) Baptism is the normative way in Scripture to express your faith in Jesus for salvation. Baptism wasn’t delayed. There was anto respond to Christ in this way. (vs.38)
4) And now...what are you waiting for? (Acts 22:16)
Remember: Baptism is not about saving yourself; it is about surrendering yourself to the One who saves. Jesus accomplished salvation through His death and resurrection. Faith trusts Him, repentance turns to Him, and baptism is the obedient response that declares, “Jesus, You are my Savior and my Lord.”
