Numbers 14:1-9, 26-45
1) When fear drives you instead of faith, you will resist the ways of God. (vs.26-35)
- Israel feared the people of the land more than they revered the Lord.
- What has God already made clear that I keep delaying because fear feels safer than trust?
2) Regret over consequences is not the same as repentance before God. (vs.39-40)
3) You cannot follow God faithfully and always be on your timetable. (vs.40-45)
- Real obedience means trusting God's word in God's timing.
- Biblical obedience is not: selective, delayed, partial, or only when it's convenient.
- Biblical obedience is trusting and submitting to the word of God when He gives it.
- God is not honored by eventual interest. He is honored by present surrender.
Matthew 14:25-29
