Called Out
John 10:31-39
Jesus was on a collision course with the world and the traditions of man - especially the religious leaders of the time.
Why was there so much animosity towards Jesus?
1.) We see the opposition start to intensify.
(John 10:31-39)
The more you try and follow the Lord, the more outspoken you become for Him.
You will face opposition and resistance.
John 15:18-22
2.) We see alliances form out of mutual opposition. (Mark 3:6)
As followers of Jesus, we are called to stand on the truth of God’s Word even when it’s unpopular, goes against the majority, or when challenged and threatened.
Sometimes you will stand all alone.
When you are hated – persecuted – mistreated for My sake, wear it as a badge of honor.
3.) We see harden hearts turn to harmful plans. (Matthew 12:14)
The Pharisees and chief priests believed that eliminating Jesus would preserve their power and control.
(John 7:1, John 11:48-53, John 12:10-11)
All this conflict fueled a collision course that Jesus was on to save us from sins. (Proverbs 29:25)
